16A - What's your secret sauce??

1. List of five qualities
· Perspective- My number one quality which has to do with my human capital being unique would have to be perspectives. When I think about selling a product, the first thing that comes to my mind is the point of view of the customer. This allows me to view things from multiple perspectives in order to make the perfect product.
· Connections- Another important quality that I have is the ability to make quick connections. Being a very social person, I’ve learned many methods about connecting with people and learning about common interests in order to find business ideas that we would benefit from. I think this is an important quality because connections are very important in the business world.
· Risk taker- This is often looked down upon by people in the business but I believe that taking risks is sometimes necessary in order to see what results from it. Sometimes it may be bad but sometimes it might result in something better than you expected. In businesses you’re always taking risks which is important that you learn to do it once in a while.
· Presentation- One of the most important qualities an entrepreneur must have is presentation skills. Professionalism is key to getting the right image for your company. The abilities to give exceptional presentations is a plus that people look for in a business owner.
· Responsible- No one likes an unprofessional boss or partner. I think of myself as very professional because I really do try my best to do things to the best of my abilities while remaining and keeping in mind to be responsible (never miss deadlines, never go to work late or not show up).
5 interviews:
1. I interviewed my roommate Martha. In this interview, she stated that my strengths included being very resilient, determined, and empathetic. She said she chose these strengths because she believes that this is what makes me very relatable and will make me a good business owner one day.
2. Next, I interviewed my boss Andreina. She said that when hiring me she saw promise, and responsibility from me. When she interviewed me, it was an hour interview and she said that from that one hour she knew I possessed the qualities of a good person and of a good employee.
3. For my third interview, I asked my teacher from middle school, Mr. Brown. He said that the qualities he sees in me would include: humbleness and hard worker. He also said that these qualities may sound soft but that in future jobs, this is what is important in any work space.
4. In my fourth interview, I asked my former high school counsellor. She stated that I have many amazing qualities such as being an innovator and quick problem solving. She went on to say that these qualities are essential in any entrepreneur.
5. Lastly, I interviewed my co-worker Kelly. She said that my biggest strengths had to be connections and perspective. She chose these because she believes that these are the most important qualities of an entrepreneur she sees in me.
Conclusion:
At first, I didn’t believe that I had any other qualities besides the first five that I posted. With these interviews, I see that I possess many other qualities that I never even thought about. I would say that people see me as a more extroverted and empathetic person that I imagined myself to be. This was a big surprise because I never really thought about all the qualities an entrepreneur can have. Even though I had many people give me different qualities, I would not change the list because most of the qualities they gave me fall under those big five qualities.
Hey Laura. I loved reading your post and getting to know you a little bit better. You sound like a very dedicated and inspired individual! I can clearly see that all of your interviewers see the entrepreneur in you. My only suggestion would be to record your interviews so we can all listen to the great things these people said about you! Overall great post.
