My Entrepreneurship Story
I never really understood the meaning of entrepreneurship till I had to apply it to my life. In high school, I was trying to find a way to make money because I wasn’t working at the time. I didn’t know what I wanted to sell until one day when I come home from school I ate one of my mom’s Ghiradelli brownies and I got the idea to start selling them. Each box was about 2 dollars so I would buy two boxes and make around 20 brownies. I sold each one of them for one dollar and soon my brownies became hit. Even the teachers would ask me if they could buy some. I never knew that at that point I had taken the first steps of becoming an entrepreneur.
As an Animal Science major, you’d think that I wouldn’t really need the class ENT 3003 but in reality, being an entrepreneur is a very important aspect of any job. I enrolled in this class because in the future I would want to run my own Veterinary clinic and in order to do that I must improve my entrepreneur skills. These skills help business owners understand and learn how to manage and strategically take financial risks in order to make money. I hope to learn and gain those qualities from this course.
I really enjoyed this post. I loved the story about brownies because it was very cute and I love brownies. Also, we have something in common because my reason for taking this class is partly because I plan to open an orthodontics practice one day. I completely agree that the characteristics of an entrepreneur are useful towards anyone in the working world. It is very accurate that we will need to understand the strategies and technical parts of entrepreneurship. Make sure to proofread the blog slowly because I caught a few grammar errors. Other than that, great blog!
ReplyDeleteI think its really interesting how your entrepreneurship story comes from just something as simple as selling brownies. It is something so simple and easy to do and you being at such a young age, you don't even realize that you are technically an entrepreneur at that moment. I also like how you mentioned that you are in this class because you hope to run a veterinary clinic because I also love animals.
