· Florida autism therapists say Medicaid payment delays harm patients and hurt business
· The article touched upon the topic of Medicaid not being able to fund Florida Medicaid funded therapists who work with kids with autism. This article talks about business owner Jennifer Borr who has a private practice funded by Medicaid. Due to the delays in the reforms in Medicaid, her business is now suffering. Her concern also included the fact that kids with autism need constant therapy and since she wasn’t the only one affect, now kids with autism are being delayed in their learning pattern.
· The problem here is that people with higher authority often pass laws, reform, and advocate or things without thinking of the consequences. Empathy needs to be an important quality a person with power needs to have.
· The people who have this problem would be kids with autism who are affected by the delays in the system and business owners (therapists) who have to pay their employees out of pocket because they aren’t being funded.

· Calling all hunters: Everglades National Park wants you to kill its Burmese pythons
· Everglades opens the park for hunters to come in and help kill the Burmese pythons. These pythons will continue eating many mammals in the sanctuary for wild animals. Usually, the everglades is very big on the banning of hunting for sport and do not allow it in the area. The problem has become very problematic and gotten out of control. This is why these paid hunters have been allowed to kill these pythons.
· The problem is people transporting illegal foreign animals that change up the environment harming it in a negative way. The python is the perfect example. When it is placed into an environment where it is dominant, it will eat almost everything in its path, destroying precious animal life.
· The environment (animals and all wildlife) is being affected by this issue where people bring dangerous species into an environment that has not been introduced to it.

· U.N. and OAS should look into Trump's forcible separation of children from their immigrant parents
· In 13 days, around 700 immigrant kids were separated from their parents. Undocumented people trying to pass through the border will no doubt receive consequences.
· The problem is the extent of the law and how leaders overuse their powers to show their power. The law should be followed but to a certain extent. Many immigration advocates argue that these people seeking shelter do have a legal right to stay.
· The people being affected by this are illegal people living in the U.S but mainly the children. This may also include anyone from a foreign country that might be seeking asylum in the United States.

· Thinking of getting a pet? Now might be a good time to visit the shelter
· Fees are dropped in order for more people to adopt pets from the shelter. Summer time is where the most abandoned animals are found. The shelters are not able to hold all the animals and some of the older animals have to be put to sleep. For this reason, the fees to adopt animals in the shelter are being dropped.
· The problem in this situation is the overbreeding of animals and people not spaying their animals. This is the number one way to avoid over population of animals.
· The Miami-Dade Shelter is being affected because they will receive more dogs than ever and do not have space to accommodate them. This is also occurring in shelters all over where they do not have space for extra animals.

· DHS secretary insists on funding sanctuary cities despite Trump promise to cut off grants
· The article goes over how cities that support sanctuaries will not get federal funding. This has caused tensions to arise between Nielson and Trump as their views do not align on the issue.
· The problem is the vague language which may contain loopholes that the DHS used in order to argue using the funding on sanctuary cities. This is a major problem because then it could be argued from both sides.
· The sanctuary cities are the one to suffer from this issue because they are not going to receive the funding and safety provided because the president gets the last word on this issue.
Hi Laura! Great post. I liked reading about each of your local opportunities, especially me being from Florida as well. I also really enjoyed your article about the animal shelter. I am glad Miami Dade is dropping the fees in order for more people to adopt these sheltered animals. I would just suggest bolding or underlining the article title to make it a bit clearer for each section.
